Afspraak in Gent op 17, 18 en 19 april voor de International Belgian Track Meeting (IBTM).
De absolute wereldtop heeft zoals elk jaar de pistemeeting met stip genoteerd in hun agenda's. Drie dagen lang is het Wielercentrum Eddy Merckx van Sport Vlaanderen Gent het decor voor baanwielrennen op het hoogste niveau. De internationale pistemeeting is UCI-klasse 1, met een deelnemersveld bestaande uit Junioren, U23 en Elite die in eigen land kunnen strijden met de wereldtop.
Absolute blikvangers zijn kersvers Europees kampioene scratch Hélène Hesters en haar broer en tevens meervoudig medaillewinnaar Jules Hesters, die beide aan de start zullen verschijnen. Ook wereldkampioenen ploegkoers Fabio Van den Bossche en Lindsay De Vylder maken hun opwachting, wat garant staat voor spektakel van het hoogste niveau. Daarnaast worden ook tal van buitenlandse toppers aan de start verwacht. Een internationaal deelnemersveld om van te smullen!
Zij zijn er met reden, want een goede prestatie op de meeting levert hen UCI-punten op. Cruciaal om zich te plaatsen voor bijvoorbeeld het wereldkampioenschap.
Daarnaast is ook de crème de la crème bij de jeugd aanwezig.

The International Belgian Track Meeting (IBTM) will take place on April 17, 18, and 19 at the track of Sport Vlaanderen Gent-Wielercentrum Eddy Merckx.
After the European Track Cycling Championship in February earlier this year in Konya, the world's top riders have marked the IBTM in their calendars. For three days, the Sport Vlaanderen Gent track will serve as the stage for top-level cycling. The international track meeting is a UCI Class 1 event, with a field of participants including Juniors, U23, and Elite riders who will compete against the world’s best in their home country.
Absolute highlights include newly crowned European scratch champion Hélène Hesters and her brother Jules Hesters, both of whom will be lining up at the start. World champions Madison riders Fabio Van den Bossche and Lindsay De Vylder will also be in action, guaranteeing top-class spectacle. In addition, many international stars are expected, resulting in an exceptionally strong and truly international field of participants.
They are here for a reason, as a strong performance at the meeting will earn them UCI points, which are crucial for qualifying for events like the World Championships.
Additionally, the best youth riders will also be present.
